Where are you located?

Where are located in the Stop-n-Shop Plaza, 164 Summer Street (3A), Kingston, MA.

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, checks, and credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover).

Are your instructors background checked?

Yes, Sullivan Driving School Instructors have a CORI report done once-a-year.

Does the Massachusetts Department of Transportation license Sullivan Driving School?

Yes, we are fully licensed and approved by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

Do you have male and female instructors?

Yes, we have both male and female instructors available for driving lessons.

How much does it cost?

The cost of the entire program is $950. This includes, 30-hours of classroom, 12-hours or behind-the-wheel, 6-hours of observation, and the 2-hour parent class. For all other services, please go to the Prices tab at the top of the page.

How do I schedule a private lesson?

How old do I have to be to take driver’s education?

You have to be 15.9 or older to take the classroom portion. 16 years old, to take your permit test, and 16 ½ and hold  permit for 6 months for your road test.

Do I need my permit to take a class?

No, you do not need your permit to take a class.

How do I sign-up for a class?

Choose the class you want to take and submit your application on-line along with your payment which can also be paid on-line.

What is observation?

Observation is when a student sits in the back seat of the car during a driving lesson and observes another student driving

How do I schedule my drives?

Just go to Schedule2drive.com and put your permit # and birthday in. If you cannot log in, you either owe your balance or we do not have your permit #.

 How long is a driving lesson?

Normally, you schedule your first 6 lessons for 2-hours (1-hour driving and 1-hour observation) after that you would schedule 1-hour drives.

How many students are in the car?

Typically, 2-3 students are in the car.

If I want to go on my road test with Sullivan Driving School, how do I go about it?

We now offer "Off Hour" road tests at our office for our students only or if you are 18 years or older you are welcome to take the road test here.  Please come into the office and fill out the application along with the payment. The student does not have to be present for sign-up, you just need to come with a copy of the  permit.  Once we receive your application and payment along with a minimum of 30 students, we submit it to MassDOT and in turn they will give us a date, usually about 2 weeks later.  We then will contact you with the date and time.  No name will be submitted without an application and payment.  It is also important not to have a road test booked when submitting an application with us.  MassDOT will not allow 2 road tests booked at the same time.  ALL MONEY IS NON-REFUNDABLE ONCE TEST IS BOOKED.

What happens if I miss my scheduled drive?

You will be charged a $50 "No Show Fee" regardless of the reason. 

When and how do I cancel a drive?

A drive must be cancelled within a 24-hour notice and should be done by you through the schedule2drive link.  We do not accept emails or phone calls for cancellations. 

 

What is the parent class and when should I take it?

The parent class is a 2-hour mandatory Massachusetts Department of Transportation requirement.  Our parent classes are held normally on the first Monday of the month at our driving school. Only one parent is required but both are welcome.  This should be taken within the first 2 months of the classroom portion.  No need to sign up, just come to the class you choose.  There is no cost to Sullivan Driving School students.
